Making Memes That Matter
This project focused on the lives of shelter animals, and opened our eyes to the evident challenges that the San Diego Humane Society, and the San Diego Department of Animal Services, face on a day to day basis, providing animal care, and safe living conditions for the hundreds of animals that are kept there. Our task was to make internet memes to promote the center. They gave us an essential question: How can we use our skills to create a product to promote solutions to companion animal overpopulation in the United States?
There were a few requirements to ensure that the memes were quality:
This project went very well. I was familiar with the program we were using so it was a bit easier for me to work, and to help others.
Honesty, there wouldn't be anything I would do differently. The entire project was a breeze, and there weren't any struggles.
I received full credit for my memes. They were done properly, and met all the requirements.
There were a few requirements to ensure that the memes were quality:
- They had to be done in Photoshop
- It "letter" page layout. No landscape.
- The font had to be easy to read, an appropriate size, and had to have complementary color to the font and image.
- The image had to be appropriately sized, and clear. Not pixelated.
- It had to have a short slogan that uses humor or emotion.
- It had to have contact information for the SDHS, or DAS
- And it had to fit with the theme and message.
This project went very well. I was familiar with the program we were using so it was a bit easier for me to work, and to help others.
