Worst Case Scenario
In the worst case scenario project we had to chose a new controversial science topic that is on the cutting edge of technology. Once we picked a topic we had to create a horror story that depicts the worst case scenario if our topic had "gone wrong." For this project I chose a new form of cancer treatment known as Oncolytic Virotherapy, in which doctors use modified viruses to attack cancer cells and eventually rid the body of cancer. Though the technology is still new a lot of people seemed skeptical about its practicality and application. However the truth about scientific advancement is that we have to accept fear and education in order to move forward. So despite the fact that we have to create horror stories. The end goal is to explain to people that we have to accept fear in order to move forward, and that they should educate themselves about controversial topics before taking a side. As a part of this assignment we had to write a non-biased essay to help promote our subject. The other part was to take our horror story and make a representation of it in an art piece such as a play or audio piece.
